ABLETON LIVE 9

all of my songs were produced with ableton. after a few youtube tutorials, it can become very easy to use this software and there is a 30-day demo available to experiment with it. compared to other daws, i feel that this is the most versatile. compatible with windows and mac. pricing starts from the lite version at $100 to ableton suite which is about $750.

Feature 2

FOCUSRITE INTERFACE

the focusrite interface, often in bundles, is what i use to record my voice or guitar. i own the focusrite 2i4 interface. you can find different versions for different prices and see what works best for your budget. it's very easy to set up and is compatible with windows and mac. you can find used, cheap models on amazon or ebay for $100. all it requires is a midi to usb cable which you plug into the interface and computer, making it ready to use.

Feature 3

ROLAND SP404

the newest addition to my family of instruments: the sp404. it is a 'sampling workstation' that comes with a built in microphone and several effects. you can upload samples into the box through a compact card and tap away for live performances or recordings. personally, i bought it to use for my vocals as you can pitch them in realtime. you can find used models on ebay or reverb for $300-$400. they're really cool and i recommend an sp404 to everyone that likes to fuck around with pitch and strange effects.

FENDER DUO-SONIC

THIS is my first electric guitar. so far so good, it costs $525 and has cool pickups. it has a clean sound and the color works well. 11/10.

SONY MDR-7506 MIXING HEADPHONES

these are the headphones i use to mix. i love these because they are only $100 and the sound is not bias. when you think of mixing headphones you probably think of beats by dre. those are not very good because they're bass boosted and you want headphones that will not be bias so that you are able to hear everything in your overall mix. definitely recommend these. very comfortable too and the warranty will save you if you break them!

SCARLETT STUDIO CM25

MY FRIEND OMAR LET ME BORROW THIS MICROPHONE. it came with the focusrite interface. it does the job well and you can get a clear sound out of it if your mixing is good. i definitely recommend this microphone and it comes in the focusrite bundle so it all works out!

you can also find it alone on ebay for $40 or something. it's a perfect mic for beginners! link is below.
